Cousin Fun!

Ruby, Stella, Grandma Lolo and Abby (Grandma's new puppy) came for a visit for a couple of nights!  Lolo helped me paint the office and the kids had fun playing, going to Lark Toys, visiting Sherri for rides on her horse, and having a sleepover!
Here are a few pictures from their visit!

Anders' 6th Birthday Party-Chuck E. Cheese!

Anders wanted to have his first friend party this year. I told him he could invite 4 friends to Chuck E. Cheese. He picked Wil and Clare and Finley and Nessa! It was a very fun day with such great friends.

Ingrid Cancels

Lena and Mark got here Saturday afternoon! We enjoyed a visit to Danzinger Winery before heading over to Arcadia for Ashley for the Arts! Ashley Furniture puts on a great fundraiser to support humanity! This year, The Beach Boys played on Friday, and Ingrid Michaelson was scheduled for Saturday. We got to Memorial Park in Arcadia, bought our $5.00 wristband, had a drink, and decided to head over to the amphitheater to get seated early. We were pretty excited about our seats (general admission). About 5 minutes after we sat down, a guy got on the microphone and said, "In case you haven't heard, Ingrid Michaelson has cancelled to be with her sick mother." We were pretty bummed, but totally understood. So, we drank and ate and watched some hot air balloons.
Kris made me proud too! There was a guy near the hot air balloons with his daughter. Apparently, he saw his ex that he broke up with him the week before with another guy. He went nuts and was yelling at her and the boyfriend while his daughter (maybe 6 years old), watched on. It was such a sad moment. Kris stepped in (although I thought he might get punched) to try to calm the guy down. In the meantime, the ex and her new man walked away, while Kris talked with the guy about the most important girl in his life (his daughter). The guy started crying and gave Kris a hug.
We headed to Alma after that and had a few drinks at the local establishments. A great night spent with my sister and brother-in-law despite not seeing Ingrid. Hopefully next year!

Grantsburg Golf!

Thursday is $10.00 for a cart and a round of 9-holes at the Grantsburg Golf Course! What a deal! Actually, I only paid $5.00 because my dad works there! Even better! We headed out at 11:00 and played! I actually didn't play because I am having an ultrasound tomorrow of my abdomen for some pain that I am having. Anders did really well for only his 2nd time golfing. He even got a 5 on a par 4 hole. Bogey not too bad for a 5 year old! He said he had about a 6 or 7 on most holes, when actually it was probably a 10 or 11, but who was counting?? It was a fun morning. I rode with Grandma Lulu because Anders like the way Grandpa drives fast!

Valleyfair!

My high school girlfriends and I took all of the kids to Valleyfair today! What a fun time. I remember loving this place when I was young! It is hard to believe that we are bringing our kids now! We decided on a Wednesday because we figured it would be less busy. We were right! It was a perfect day of sunshine and the lines were very short! We got there when the park opened and didn't leave until about 7:00. What a fun day! I headed to my mom's afterwards. We are going to golf tomorrow and Anders is staying for the weekend while Lena, Mark, Kris, and I go to the Ingrid Michaelson concert on Saturday in Arcadia.

Waterpark fun! He loved the lazy river!

Buffalo County Fair

Anders and I decided to go to the Buffalo County Fair this morning. We ended up getting there at the same time as the Nolls, so we had fun checking out the exhibits with them. Axel, Heidi's oldest son has 3 calves, a pig, and 2 sheep entered this year. We enjoyed watching him show the sheep. Anders thinks he might want to be in 4-H someday and thinks he might show one of our chickens!

I had to show Kris how well represented the DNR was. I remember how he would have to work all day on the Friday of the fair for many years.

A very blurry picture of Axel and his sheep.

I had a little mishap with my pants. I was carrying a bag, and a pen had poked through the bottom. Every step I moved, the pen marked up my white pants. This must have gone on for about an hour, as Heidi finally laughed saying, "I think you might have a problem!" We laugh so hard we cried. I was so embarrased, I just wanted to leave, but Anders wanted to play a game and we were going to get some lunch. I talked Anders into going after lunch because we were going to Valleyfair next week. I told him he could play games then. :)
